Nexus™ RMGI (Resin-Modified Glass Ionomer Luting Cement) by Kerr has been designed to "speed up the cleanup." In my practice, I hate to wait for things to set up. It is like watching paint dry.
has been designed to "speed up the cleanup." In my practice, I hate to wait for things to set up. It is like watching paint dry. So it is great to have a company that understands the dental team's frustration with cement cleanup. It seems like it is always too soft or too hard. I am happy to see Kerr Corporation attach the Nexus brand name to this cement. With my results over many years, I have come
to trust the brand. I have been using Kerr Nexus Universal Adhesive Resin Dental Cement as my cement of choice for final cementation of veneers since it was introduced many years ago. My point is that I trust this brand and the research behind it. Kerr's Nexus RMGI is a paste/paste, resin-modified, glass ionomer luting cement that is indicated for permanent cementation of: metal-based inlays, onlays, crowns and bridges; resin inlays, onlays, crowns and bridges; all ceramic inlays and crowns; high strength (zirconia-based) all-ceramic crowns and bridges; metal, ceramic, and fiber posts. It is a self-adhering paste/paste for enhanced ease of use, has ultra-low film thickness (<10 μ) to ensure proper seating and excellent marginal fit, and will minimize postop sensitivity. You can light cure Nexus RMGI with a two- to three-second tack cure to provide easy one-peel cleanup, or it will self-cure to an optimal gel state for cleanup. This solves the question of when to start the cement cleanup. With this cement, the answer is simple: start after the tack cure. The novel dual-adhesive system is coupled with an optimized resin matrix that delivers significantly higher bond strength to tooth structures and common substrates while enhancing the stability and marginal integrity of the restoration. This cement has increased radiopacity for easier radiographic identification and a sustained fluoride release for decay prevention. Amine-free chemistry combines with optimum translucency for exceptional color stability. Delivered in a convenient automix syringe, Nexus RMGI is the new standard for cementation of metal-based restorations and full-contour zirconia.
is now available in a 4 ml bottle delivery system. In my office, we were tired of having so many different adhesive systems. I encourage you to give Peak Universal Bond a try because it actually saves time and money by eliminating chemistry-sensitive products and reducing inventory in the office. Peak is a 7.5% filled, light-cured resin that is ideal for all bonding procedures in my office, both direct and indirect. It provides optimal bond strengths and works well with composite, metal, zirconia, porcelain repair, and post and core procedures. Peak's unique formulation, which is compatible with self-etch and total-etch techniques, also features a 0.2% concentration of chlorhexidine. This has been proven to ensure long-term bond strengths. I trust Ultradent products because I know that Dr. Dan Fischer does the necessary research to ensure that the products he places on the market do what he claims. Whether you choose the syringe delivery or Ultradent's new bottle delivery option, Peak Universal Bond's trusted features and benefits remain the same.
is a temporary crown and bridge material based on a multifunctional acrylic composite. Now I know what you are thinking. Just what I need – another temporary material. But wait. This one has some neat features. It is suitable for the fabrication of temporary crowns, partial crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, and veneers. Visalys Temp is impressive. It is easy to dispense and flows well into the impression. But it has enough viscosity that it is easy to control. The temporary restoration is simple to remove from the impression, and you will notice that it has a minimal smear layer. This makes it easy to handle. Once set, it can be trimmed quickly and precisely. This temp material has a time-saving feature that you will enjoy. It has a high luster without polishing so this step can be eliminated or greatly reduced. It is available is several shades. Its fluorescence and translucency makes the material suitable for esthetic temporary restorations and highly demanding anterior temporary restorations. Visalys Temp is fracture resistant and stable. With this material, patients should not have any issues with their temporaries while waiting for final restorations. This material is bisphenol-A free so there is no health risk for the dental team or patients.
