I was lost. After years of postgraduate education, I had learned to be a dentist but had barely a clue about how to run a business. Yet there I was with a brand-new practice-empty operatories and a pile of unpaid bills on my desk. I read Dental Economics fervently and attended a practice management lecture here and there, but I wanted something more comprehensive. Why couldn't there just be a boot camp for business?
So we've created one: DE's Principles of Practice Management conference. We'll be tackling all of the critical areas of running a business, from cash flow to operational systems to hiring, firing, and leading a team. It's the practice management fundamentals that we wish we had learned in dental school, all in one place.
One of the more common attendee complaints about conferences is they feel they sat through commercials rather than true lectures. We're making sure our presenters offer a complete educational experience that is free from outside interests. I reached out to some of the greatest minds from the pages of Dental Economics. They will be revealing all of the secrets; no fluff and no commercials.
The theme for our inaugural conference is "Blueprint for Success." Part think tank and part business incubator, we'll tackle the everyday management challenges that are holding us back. Whether you're fresh out of dental school or a seasoned practice owner, you'll be immersed in business lessons that can be implemented immediately. Define what your success looks like, and then let us help you get there.
