What inspired you to advocate for dentists and help their practices grow?
Having worked with dentists for 25 years and seeing everything under the sun happen in their lives, it has become clear that their personal struggles have a dramatic effect on their practice. So as far as advocating for dentists, it’s become my full-time pursuit to help them make the best decisions for their future. It’s amazing how many people just don’t have a good plan for life. Supporting doctors, their spouses, partners, team, and families is my passion.
Do you work mostly with seasoned dentists or with new practice owners?
We really deal with doctors and practices at all levels. Most of my work is with the top 1% of the profession. Many didn’t start that way. The tough part for me is the limits people put on themselves. I have had to support clients at all levels, but the common denominator is people who are committed to growth. The numbers humble me, and I’m so grateful for the trust clients put into the relationship.
What can dentists do this year to make 2023 the most successful year?
2023 is going to be about processing and shaking off the last three years and their consequences. Our clients are busy and have to get their heads in putting energy into top-priority activities: building a better team, being attractive to associate doctors, and building a culture that withstands adversity. Not giving in mentally as well as understanding what complacency is and how it’s affecting them will be their biggest challenges. The future is bright for dentists who will actually increase their personal engagement. Most just need some guidance and a community of like-minded doctors.
