Dental Economics Advisory Board profile: Stacey Gividen, DDS

April 5, 2022
Together with our publishing team, board members work to improve DE and make it an essential resource for dentists and the dental industry. This month's featured member is Dr. Stacey Gividen.

What procedures do you love most?

Implants and cosmetic work. My all-time favorite: All-on-4/full-mouth hybrid reconstruction cases.

What’s your favorite thing about practice ownership?

The freedom to make as much success as you want. The secret: don’t be afraid of change or stepping outside of your comfort zone. You must get uncomfortable at times and be willing to take the necessary steps to achieve your goals.

Your least favorite?

Before I knew much about staff management, I would have said that, hands down. However, things have changed, and it’s actually one of my favorite parts of ownership. I really don’t have much to complain about; I really enjoy the experience.

What music do you listen to while you work?

If I had my choice, it would be Five Finger Death Punch, Disturbed, Volbeat, etc. However, our go-to to please everyone is country (I do live in Montana) with some ‘80s mixed in.

What advice would you give a new dentist who’s thinking about buying a practice?

Go with your gut. Get a good accountant. Don’t be afraid to spend money to make money. Don’t be afraid to say no. Invest in technology and respect your staff. Everything else will fall into place.
