GENTLEforce LUX 6000B is a high-speed handpiece with an angle designed to improve accessibility in hard-to-reach areas of the mouth. This air-driven handpiece easily snaps onto the 360° KaVo MULTIflex Coupler, which attaches to any dental unit. The handpiece head is a medium size and features a four-port water spray and a push-button auto chuck. A glass rod rather than fiber optics is used for illumination. GENTLEforce LUX 6000B is quiet relative to other air-driven handpieces and has a nice weight and balance.

Integrity is an automix composite provisional material available in four Vita shades plus a bleach shade. The viscosity and flow of the material allow it to stack well in a matrix without being too runny. It adapts well to the prepared teeth, resulting in provisional restorations that were highly rated for their overall fit and quality. No heat release or shrinkage was noted during curing. The provisionals exhibit good strength characteristics, and some dentists reported fewer fractures than with other materials they had used.

Thirty patients were selected for participation in a clinical evaluation of in-office tooth whitening utilizing Rembrandt Lightning Plus gel with Rembrandt Sapphire PAC light and Rembrandt Whitening Crystal. The gel contains 35% hydrogen peroxide with potassium nitrate and sodium fluoride. Rembrandt Sapphire light and Rembrandt Whitening Crystal allow light activation to both arches during the entire treatment time. The light-cured dental dam included is highly effective in isolating gingival tissue and minimizing soft-tissue sensitivity. Tooth sensitivity experienced with Rembrandt Lightning Plus was clinically noted to be less than that of other in-office systems. While the amount of lightening was highly variable among patients, most achieved acceptable results after just one treatment. Those patients requiring additional treatment began with an A3 shade or darker. Each kit contains materials for two patient treatments: automix syringes of bleaching gel, light-cured dental dam, lip moisturizer, polishing toothpaste, accessories, and two patient Smile Maintenance Kits.
