Pearls for Your Practice: Molis Coaching Essentials

Dec. 27, 2022
More GPs than ever are doing ortho thanks to Invisalign—the problem is that most GPs don’t know how to do it. That’s where Molis Coaching comes in.

Recently I was referred a new patient by a colleague who is retiring. The patient’s name sounded familiar, but it wasn’t until I saw him in my operatory that I realized why. He was the course director from my sophomore year orthodontics lecture course. Because of limitations in patient pools, time issues, and general dental school politics, predoctoral orthodontics basically revolved around the simple concept of “You GPs should just refer ortho to a board-certified orthodontist.”

That approach seemed to have worked pretty well in the era of brackets and wires, but clear aligner therapy has changed it. More GPs than ever are doing ortho thanks to Invisalign. The problem is that most GPs don’t know how to do it. That’s where Molis Coaching comes in.

Molis Coaching is an online platform founded by Ryan Molis, a Diamond-level Invisalign provider. The Essentials program shows general practitioners the way to success with Invisalign and consists of modules of videos that you can watch on your own time.

It covers the gamut of information from goal-setting and marketing to case selection and setting up ClinChecks, attachments, IPR, and fundamental aligner physics. This is a comprehensive program to get you proficient with clear aligners on your own schedule.

Dr. Molis hosts all the videos, and they are very well produced. They vary in length, but they’re all very digestible and easy to binge-watch. Many videos are under five minutes and focus on a single simple concept. I found myself watching one between seeing patients and a couple of them while I sat down for lunch. Because I didn’t need to leave the office, it was a very easy course to work through. In addition to the Essentials coursework, Molis Coaching offers a Facebook community and other courses for dental teams, ClinCheck support, and a Mastermind group.

Besides the ease of consumption, what I love most about Molis Coaching is Dr. Molis himself. I found him to be honest and authentic in sharing what has worked for him and what hasn’t. For anyone who wants to raise their game with clear aligner therapy in their practice, Molis Coaching is a great choice. His systematic approach and easy-to-use interface make this the perfect binge-watch next time you have a patient cancel.
