There is nothing more energizing than coming home with new ideas and techniques to put to immediate use in your dental practices.

There is nothing more energizing than coming home with new ideas and techniques to put to immediate use in your dental practices. So, as you wonder about where you are going to find your next continuing-education courses, let me show you how the Internet is a great way to search for ideas.

There are countless places to find CE online. I am only going to give you a sampling of what is out there. I apologize upfront for this limited listing. There is not enough space in this magazine for me to list every online site.

Now for some sample URLs to explore:

www.ce-magic.com — Kit Weathers'/Mike Goldstein's Root Camp
www.lvilive.com — Bill Dickerson's Las Vegas Institute
www.paclive.com — Pacific Aesthetic Continuum
www.nashinstitute.com — Ross Nash's Cosmetic Dentistry Institute
www.hornbrookgroup.com — David Hornbrook's Education Group
www.dawsoncenter.com — Peter Dawson's Education Center
www.iusdcaps.com — My dental school, Indiana University's Center for Advanced Professional Studies.
www.tambcd.edu/cedental — Baylor University's extensive CE listings
www.dental.upenn.edu/lifelong/online_seminars. html — CE courses offered online
www.ada.org — The American Dental Association has CE on its site.
www.pankey.org —The Pankey Institute's Web site
www.drkois.com/main_c.html — John Kois' Center for Advanced Dental Learning
www.madow.com/tbse — The Madow Group's Continuing Education site
www.theprofitabledentist.com — Woody Oakes' Web site

Many manufacturers, newsletters, and magazines offer continuing education on their Web sites. Examples of these are:

www.dentalcare.com — Proctor & Gamble
www.mmm.com/dental — 3M
www.cranews.com — CRA
www.dentaleconomics.com — Dental Economics' excellent Web site
www.henryschein.com/dental/addservices/cehp/maincehp.asp — Sullivan Schein Dental
www.nobelbiocare.com/global/en/Education Events— NobelBiocare
www.nti-tss.com — A site dedicated to teaching dentists and patients about the NTI appliance
www.discusdental.com/education — Discus

Many practice-management consultants maintain excellent Web sites. Some will place articles of interest on them, as well as listing when they offer classes. Here are a few:

www.mckenziemgmt.com — Sally McKenzie
www.dentalmanagementu.com — Linda Miles
www.prideinstitute.com — Jim Pride
www.dentalbootkamp.com — Steve Anderson

Here are some CE search sites:

www.findce.com — A great CE search engine

You can navigate to any dental school's Web page to look up continuing-education courses that they sponsor. You can also go to any local and state dental society's Web page to look up continuing-education courses that they sponsor. Last, but certainly not least, you can get a lot of quick and simple dental "education" online through dental discussion groups. I highly recommend that you join some of these. You will have thousands of dentists from around the world available to answer questions, give you opinions, and more. The largest and most well-known are:

www.internetdentalforum.org — The Internet Dental Forum

www.genr8tnext.com — GenR8Tnext Forum

Sit down, get connected, and there is no limit to what you can find.
