Former Surgeon General C. Everett Koop says the nation`s leaders in Washington are too focused on money and profits, at the expense of health care. Cuts in government programs are creating a climate "downright hostile to health," he told the American Public Health Association. Koop also said, "The economics of managed care seems to be taking over from the ethics of managed care."
